Description
 

The design presented here is a compact high rejection sharp low-pass filter with pass band spanning 0 to 5.95 GHz designed on a 4 mil GaAs substrate and uses Genetic synthesis techniques. This filter does not require any via process or ground bonds. It can provide 20 dB rejection @ 6.5 GHz and 30 dB rejection @ 7.2 GHz. It has a low insertion loss of 0.35 dB up to 4.95 GHz and 1.5 dB at 5.95 GHz and the filter design can be tuned to fit the required needs. The layout occupies less than 1mm2 area. During the similar design technique we can also achieve compact sharp band pass filters in other substrate.
